My art and activism spring from a long enquiry into the meaning of our relationship to environmental experience. We inhabit a rapidly changing environment and how we relate to that changing environment is perhaps the defining question of our time.
In 1980 I came to the US from London, studying under Maya Angelou (Wake Forest University, BA, 1985). I later studied under Vera Klement and Charles Harrison at The University of Chicago (MFA, 1991). My work has been exhibited widely including at Flowers East (London), Gallery Henoch (NY), and the Delaware Contemporary (Exhibitions). Reviews include ArtForum, New Art Examiner, Chicago Tribune.
Inspired by Yo-Yo Ma, I founded SkyDay with leading Atmospheric Scientist Dr. Don Wuebbles (UIUC) and leading Climate Scientist Dr. Daniel Horton (Northwestern University). SkyDay is a free educational platform with the mission of offering young people inspiring citizen art initiatives on global sustainability.
I would like to thank the following artists, gallerists, curators, critics and collectors for their support of the work: Maya Angelou Vera Klement Charles Belloc Lowndes Ivan Karp Mathew Flowers Charles Harrison Alan Artner James Yood George Schectman Frank Paluch J.
